HelLo!

My design process is rooted in my anthropological and archaeology background. Design for me is archaeology of the future in the sense that we as designers bring elements of the future into the present through objects and experiences. I am continually fascinated by how material objects can both shape identity and provide glimpses into everyday life.

I am currently extremely interested in metadesign and design for sustainability transitions as I believe it is design’s role to facilitate the conditions for sustainable behavior. I have expanded my training to include business design because I feel it is also up to design teams to work with industry to build more equitable and inclusive products that enable sustain-able futures. We cannot just empathize our way out of bad business models, we must have the training to reshape them. My MFA thesis focused on food system transition and designing for food citizenship in a local food ecosystem of Umeå.
